MOOC/Online Course

Responding to concerns about public confusion regarding mindfulness in contemporary societies, and concerned about the vulnerability of people interested in practicing mindfulness today, MentalPraxis developed a comprehensive MOOC (massive open online course) with Leiden University, available for free through Coursera.  In its first year, this course served more than 50,000 students -it is ongoing.

Honours Course

Seeking to offer a responsibly academic course that balanced analytical, third person knowledge with experiential, first-person learning, MentalPraxis offers an intensive credit-awarding course in the Honours Academy of Leiden University, in The Netherlands each year.  This innovative course is built around an inter- and multi-disciplinary interrogation of mindfulness, as well as responsible participation in practice.

Mindfulness Philosophy & Praxis (MP2)

Responding to requests to provide a more philosophically oriented course about (and in) mindfulness, MentalPraxis has developed a unique variant on the standard 8-week MBCT/MBSR programme that integrates philosophical analysis with rigorous practice sessions.  This course was designed for participants interested in exploring the fundamental concept of mindfulness as it appears in various philosophical traditions around the world.

Supervision

Realising that not everyone is able to attend MentalPraxis courses, and also that many who have completed such courses (or others) require further support, MentalPraxis is able to offer individual or group supervisions.  These can range from therapeutic sessions to technical or skills training courses, and can be designed for various levels of experience and for various different contexts.
The images used on this site were conceptualized by Chris Goto-Jones for various projects.  The character set (monk, zombie, ninja, hippie, scientist) was illustrated by Siku for the MOOC: Demystifying Mindfulness.  The Ninja Mindfulness and Virtual Ninja images were also illustrated by Siku.  The art for the Zombie Mindfulness project is by Ricardo Bessa.  The Jedi Mindfulness images are by Glen Mullaly.  The Mindfulness Philosophy images were drawn by Roxanne van Beek.  All images are copyright  MentalPraxis 2016 - they can be re-used for non-commercial purposes with proper acknowledgement.
